Call for Entries
“ART FROM LIFE: THE HUMAN FORM,” an exhibition of figurative art, art works of nudes and partially nude figures, created from life (i.e., live models) by local and regional artists, will open on May 16, and will run through Jun. 7, 2012 at Livingston Center for Art & Culture, located at 119 S. Main St., in Livingston, MT (59047). 2 and 3 dimensional works in all media are eligible. Artists interested in submitting work for the show should send JPEG images of their intended entries (maximum of five), of less than 1 MB in file size, including artist’s name, title, size, date, medium and price for each (can be on a separate document; pdf preferred), to the curator, David Swanson, at www.davidswansonart.com, by 5 p.m. May 4, 2012.
Though not a juried show per se, the curator, reserves the right to select or reject particular images based on the particular aesthetic requirements of the show. Artists will be notified of selections by 3 p.m., Tues., May 8.
Work must be delivered, ready to hang, no later than 12 noon, Tues., May 15, 2012. Please direct questions to L.C.A.C., 406-222-5222.

Poetry in the Windows
Take a poetry tour this month!
Elk River Books and the Livingston Center for Art and Culture are collaborating to bring Poetry in the Windows to downtown Livingston. Poems by local authors will be on display in the windows of over 40 downtown businesses during the month of April, National Poetry Month.
A POETRY READING will be held at the Center (119 S. Main St.) on Friday, April 20 at 7:00 PM.

Instructor David Swanson will provide a solid foundation in drawing from a live model in this workshop covering gesture, line quality, and modeling. Artists work in the medium of their choice (graphite, charcoal, conte, or ink on paper).
Cost: $100, 0r $95 for members and students (covers model fees, but does not include materials)
