The Livingston Center for Art and Culture is always looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our volunteer team and make a commitment of time and interest. You can get involved by becoming a docent, helping with exhibits and events, monitoring art education classes, or working in our office.

Who can volunteer?
People of all ages and backgrounds can volunteer. We welcome volunteers who are responsible, enthusiastic, and willing to commit several hours a month to serving others. Whether you are a retiree, a student, or just have some extra time you would like to give, your participation is greatly appreciated. You do not have have to be well versed in art to be a volunteer!

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Gallery Attendant Volunteer
Open and secure the Center’s Gallery. Answer the phone, questions, tally and direct visitors, write up sales, and file. Volunteers must be available on select Saturdays, 11am – 5pm in the summer months and 12pm to 4pm in off season months

Exhibits Installation/De-Installation Volunteer
For each exhibit, the artwork will need to be installed and de-installed. Such duties might include painting and spackling, art handling, working with tools, heavy lifting, and other respective activities involved in the installation of the artworks (e.g. paintings, sculptures, pottery, jewelry, mixed media, etc.). May require ± 5 hours/shift.

Reception Volunteer
Assist with setup, greeting, managing activities, event takedown, and more. Events are typically 5pm – 8:30pm , so it may require ± 4 hours/shift

“Get the Word Out” Marketing Volunteer
Need ongoing volunteers according to upcoming events. Volunteers will assist with dispersing flyers, posters, and information within the community for upcoming programs at the Center.

Education – Artist Assistant
Need volunteers to work 1-3 hour shifts as needed in our education classroom. Volunteers will assist teaching artists with classes and workshops, help with prep work, set up, and clean up.

Administration Office Support and Customer Service
Need ongoing administrative support, weekly and special projects in our office. Volunteers will be helping with answering phone, data input, mailings, organizing, filing, and light office cleaning.

Summer Teen Internship
Internships are available for high school aged students who would like to enhance their leadership skills by assisting our lead teachers during Summer Art Camps. Applications will be available in the Spring for the following Summer.
